We’re living in unprecedented times. Those who do so much to support the health and well-being of our communities are being called upon to do even more as they modify their services and operations to serve those most in need. As an active member of the community, Interior Savings wants to lend a hand. Interior Savings is offering one-time grants from $2000 – $7000 to cover extraordinary and unbudgeted costs your organization is incurring in order to continue to provide vital services during the pandemic.

Eligibility Criteria

We welcome applications from those that are:

  • Community-based non-profit, volunteer, or non-profit organizations.
  • Serving the Okanagan, Thompson and Nicola Valley communities (Osoyoos, Oliver, Okanagan Falls, West Kelowna, Kelowna, Lake Country, Vernon, Chase, Kamloops, Barriere, Clearwater, Ashcroft, Lillooet, or Merritt).

Preference will be given to those organizations who:

  • Align with one or more of Interior Savings’ impact areas.
  • Demonstrate the greatest need.
  • Benefit the greatest number of people.

Eligible costs include:

  • Any extraordinary and unbudgeted costs the organization is incurring in order to provide vital services during the pandemic, such as:
    • purchasing additional health and sanitation supplies;
    • providing food and essentials to clients to support new or increased demand; or
    • investing in technology to help you or your clients stay connected

The fund is not intended for:

  • Costs unrelated to maintaining or adapting services as a result of COVID-19 such as facility repairs or capital campaigns for new or future programs or services.
  • Operation costs (such as wages, maintenance, facility rentals, travel, business as usual supplies)
  • Annual funding.
  • Projects that impact a limited amount of people or benefit one individual or family.
  • Projects that have political or religious affiliation or that represent a conflict of interest for Interior Savings, i.e. where Interior Savings considers the issue to be one about which our members may have significantly divergent views

Fund Timelines

  • Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2020. Applicants will be contacted in June 2020. For those that are successful in their bids, grants will be provided on submission of receipts for eligible expenses.
